The spacious sunken Living Room has its own fireplace and wet bar with sink, and plenty of below-counter storage. This is an excellent area to entertain guests. Easy access to the kitchen makes it convenient for guests to get their hors d'oeuvres in the kitchen and move to the Living Room to socialize or watch a large screen movie. There is a panoramic view of your avocado orchard, wooded area, and Mt. San Miguel (see Outside Views). The sliding glass door leads to the back deck with areas for barbequing, outdoor dining, or just enjoying the open air view from the bench running the length of the deck.  Adjustable Venetian blinds extend the full length of the bay window and to the peak of the ceiling. The hall and all rooms except the bath rooms, kitchen, and entrance hall are carpeted. They have tile floors.

This is the Living Room as seen from the bay window near the fireplace looking toward the front entrance and kitchen. The white wall to the right is a large 16x9foot  home theater screen. The room is wired for high definition TV and 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound. There is wiring for a left, center, and right set of speakers near the screen, a left and right surround sound speaker midway in the ceiling, and  rear speakers on each side of the fireplace. The HDTV receiver and projector are on a shelf over the fireplace at the left. Video, audio, and data cables run to the electronics area along the theater screen wall. Behind the plasma HDTV in the center of the wall is access to cables from the outdoor Digital TV antenna, Cox Cable, and the house LAN. The CATV and LAN cables also connect to the Family Room and Master Bed Room. The LAN goes to the 3rd Bed Room. There are telephone outlets at the wet bar and on the wall at the right of this picture.
The simulated rock wall surrounding the fireplace extends from the hearth to the cathedral ceiling. The fire place mantel is a large wooden beam. The ceiling is rough cut wood planking with large wood beams. The overhead track lighting runs down the center of the ceiling, controlled by a dimmer. The lights can be directed to accent areas of the room and the dimmer allows you to set a romantic mood or dim the house lights to watch a movie. The ceiling is insulated and separate from the roof. The room is served by a large vent on the forced air heating and air conditioning system.
